Taco Pie

So yesterday as I was packing Matt's lunch...dino nuggets, shredded cheese and a wrap.  I noticed a recipe on the back of the cheese. 

sorry for the flash......it sounds so yummy so I prepared it last night for us to just pop in the oven tonight!!  I'll let you know!  =)

(a very late) Weekend Update

So we had a busy weekend...it really started for me on Thursday!  I took off last Thursday and Friday to hang out with Brody and do some fun stuff before the summer ends! 

Thursday we did this
Friday Aunt Emmy was off too so went downtown to have lunch with some old co-workers and visited Emily old place where she worked.  Friday night was BLOGGER Bunco....so much fun!  I think these girls summed it great!! Cassie Adrien Heather Thanks again Sarah for hosting and I'm still thinking of that caramel goodness you made!!
Saturday my alarm went off at 5:45am to go to the Mommy sale!  It was great.  I got this for Brody for $8.00!!

and a remote controlled Jeep that I'm not sure who liked it more...Matt or Brody!  I can tell you one thing Reese HATED it!

Next we hit up Kohl's where my mom got a 30% coupon!  Whoo Hoo for Jackie and I!  They had all the fall clothes 50% off then PLUS the 30%....what a deal!  Brody walked away with lots of long sleeve tshirts and a few sweatshirts!!

That night Brody had a sleep over with Loreli!  They were so cute together!!  They had many first's on this date....a picnic and a car ride!

Sunday morning Loreli was a good girl and slept in....not Brody!  Up at 6:30!  During breakfast I noticed Brody was slipping his waffle on the chair.  Sometimes he slips food to the dogs, but they were outside.  He very politely says "more appie peas"?
Me: did you eat all of your waffle
Brody: uh uh

Yea right....

 

 

 

The rest of Sunday was so great....Brody napped and I laid out.  Got a little hot so went on a raft-dozed off, then went back to the chair and dozed off .... I love summer days like that and I hadn't gotten one all summer!!!

St Louis Zoo

Did you think I forgot you??  Geez almost a week-sorry about it!!

So I took off today and tomorrow to hang out with my mom since she was so wonderful and watched Brody 2x a week this summer and have some mommy and Brody time!

Today Mom and I took Brody to the Zoo for the first time.....using our new Zoo Membership-thanks Mom!!  =)
We headed straight to the Children's Zoo.  I was so excited to pet whatever they had and see Brody's eyes light up!  Well as soon as I let him out of his stroller he started coughing then barfed 2x!!  Holy Hell!  Right in the front by the door strawberries and milk!  =(  I was so sad for him.  There were kids asking "what happened to that little boy"  then the parents would reply "well sometimes kids just get sick"   I did notice some appalled looks when people walked in and saw the mess then turned around....are you frickin serious people, he had flem!!!  So after we cleaned that up and changed clothes (there goes that hat and snap down outfit combo) we got to pet some guinea pigs!

On our way to the goats we saw a little chicken just hanging out....

....and realized that Brody is about the same size as a Koola!

When we went to Grant Farm for Mother's Day the goats were all full just laying around so I wasn't sure how Brody would like them!  It was great!!  He loved them and was hugging them and getting in their faces - I wanted to take the twin baby ones home with us!!

After the Children's Zoo we saw the Hippo's and Elephants!  I think he liked the fish more then the huge Hippo head that was RIGHT by us!

Then we headed to the Penguins and Monkey.  By this time mom and I were getting tried and there was a line to go in the Penguins so we just decided to see the ones outside.  We saw Penguins in TN!

Next we wanted to check out the Build-A-Bear.  It was such a great deal...any animal, any outfit and shoes for $29.99.  Brody chose the Giraffe, that we names Stretch!!

I confess that everytime I run I kind of wish I would trip and fall so I could stop!  opps

I confess that I bought Brody training pants, even though I know we are far from using them, but I was pissed that I was spending $50 on 2 boxes of diapers!!

So I'm driving through Cahokia this morning on the phone and I hear the 18-wheeler next to me honk....I'm like whatever.  THEN he pulls up by me and gives me a wave and a big smile.  I totally gave him a "really?!?!" face then might have mouthed "are you fucking kidding me".  I just ticked me off....what a creep!  I mean if he was maybe Pauly D (right Heather?) standing on the side of the road with a sweating white T-shirt on ..... I might would have waved back .

August Leaf:

I'm so very proud to say that my happy ass has been getting up every.single.day this week and working out AND counting my calories again on My Fitness Pal!!  Hells Bells to me!!!

Day 1: Jillian's 30-day shred Level 2 THEN ran/walked a mile with the pups
Day 2: P90X Cardio
Day 3: Jillian's 30-day shred Level 3 THEN ran/walked a mile with the pups
Day 4: (Rough night, Brody ended up sleeping with us) Pilates
Day 5: Ran 2.5 miles out of 3.0

My Dogs:

I love my dogs to pieces....I mean they were truly my babies before babies baby.  They aren't perfect....they beg for food and jump up on your when you come in the door and paw at you if you quit petting them, but they are so great with Brody!  I haven't gotten a picture yet, but Zoe and Brody play and it's SO FUNNY!  She gets down with her butt in the air and barks at him and you guessed it....Brody gets on all 4's and puts his butt in the air right back at her!  Hilarious!!   Reese is prime example of how Labs are so laid back and perfect for a family with kids.

When he gives her kisses it HAS to be on the mouth....so he grabs her face and holds it still!

Road Trip:

Emily and I are doing this and I'm super pumped about it!  Who else wants to go?!?!  December is a LONG way off and 3 miles is not as bad as you think....plus how much fun is is going to be to run in a Santa hat and beard then party it up in Chicago!!!

Butter

I LOVE all types of dogs.  I have no problem with small dogs in fact I have a niece and nephew that are Pugs and another nephew who is a toy Yorkie!  It's totally you provocative to name your dog whatever you want....but hopefully you think/thought about what that name would sound like when you yell for it.  Also, I don't have an issue with the name Butter, but I do think it is somewhat of a feminine name......JUST SAYIN' 
So on with my post......

  I took the dogs for a walk this morning (after doing Jillian's 30 Day Shred Level 2-go me) and we walk through the neighborhood to the park as usual and we come around the corner and these too Chihuahua's come running down the drive and this guy (about my age) comes running after then apologizing over and over again (he was wearing a long fleece navy blue robe) I'm like it's ok (not really, but at least he was outside with them) so the one little rat was like growling and nipping at Zoe and Reese was barking a bit.  So he picks up the crazy one and tries to get the other one.  HIS name was Butter.  "Come here, Butter"  "Butter, let's go...."  "He just loves dogs so much" (as he was trying to get his dog he was like walking around me chasing the dog and has he would go to pick him up Butter would run away)  In the meantime I'm helping him (REMINDER I'm the one with 100 + lbs of dogs)  So after like a minute or 2 of him calling "Butter"  I finally just pick up Butter and handed him over. *I really home you got a good mental pictures of this * I probably laughed at that guy the whole time while at the park.....BAHAHAHA  What a geek!  In his robe and can't control his 5 lb dog and the poor little guy's name is BUTTER!!!
